Sometimes, something really big
hits the Moon. This impact scar, called the Orientale Basin, is nearly 1000 km
across! Whatever hit our satellite all those billions of years ago did it some serious hurt. But then, it must have been 100 km across - 1000 times
the mass of the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. Ouch.
