Casting Bones

As you might imagine, a complete dinosaur skeleton is expensive – very expensive. Plus, there aren't too many of these finds to go around. That's one reason why scientists build molds of skeletal parts. Once the mold is formed, they fill it with a cement or polyester resin. When the materials hardens, it forms a cast. These casts can be used to replicate an entire skeleton or just the missing bones from an incomplete find.
