Re-creating the chemistry and cosmetics of Queen Nefertiti

Nefertiti had large thighs. She had large thighs, a decidedly fertile-shaped belly, and ample hips accentuated by the smallness of her chest. In Egypt in the fourteenth century B.C., she was a paragon--her name meant "the beauty has come"--and yet Nefertiti did not rely on her natural looks alone. She applied makeup in bold strokes, outlining her almond-shaped eyes in black and darkening her brows. So did her husband the Pharaoh.
